The new restrictions were put in place by India’s telecom regulator to address the issue of
undesired spam texts and calls in over a billion phone devices across the country. The
The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) recently issued a new telecom operator
regulations, which went in effect as of May 1, 2023.All telecom operations in India will use
Artificial Intelligence (AI) spam filters in their call and message services under the new
laws.These Artificial Intelligence (AI) filters are intended to limit the never-ending stream of
spam calls and messages that millions of handset users in India get due to a lack of regulatory
standards.
Bharti Airtel has announced the integration of artificial intelligence filters into its services.
Meanwhile, Reliance Jio is said to be working on deploying the filters and will begin rolling
out the services soon.
