A momentous event today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the breathtaking ‘Sudarshan Setu‘, India’s longest cable-stayed bridge, nestled in the scenic landscapes of Dwarka, Gujarat. Connecting the vibrant locales of Okha and Beyt Dwarka island, this engineering marvel comes alive with a fascinating blend of modernity and tradition.
With a grand investment of Rs 979 crore, the Sudarshan Setu spans over 2.3 kilometers, boasting four lanes and expansive 27.20-meter width, adorned with inviting 2.50-meter wide footpaths on both sides. What sets this bridge apart is its unique design, featuring enchanting verses from the Bhagavad Gita and captivating images of Lord Krishna, echoing the spiritual essence of the region.
Formerly known as the ‘Signature Bridge’, this architectural wonder has now been christened as the ‘Sudarshan Setu’ or Sudarshan Bridge, symbolizing a seamless link between the old and new Dwarka. Beyt Dwarka, a picturesque island near the bustling Okha port, lies just 30 kilometers from the historic Dwarkadhish temple, a sacred abode of Lord Krishna.
In his momentous address, Prime Minister Modi expressed his delight in inaugurating the Sudarshan Setu, hailing it as a beacon of connectivity and progress. Before the grand inauguration, the Prime Minister offered prayers at the revered Dwarkadhish temple, invoking blessings for the prosperity of the nation.

Following the inauguration of the Sudarshan Setu, PM Modi is set to unveil Gujarat’s first All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in the bustling city of Rajkot. This state-of-the-art healthcare facility, along with four other AIIMS establishments across Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal, marks a significant milestone in India’s healthcare infrastructure, with a collective investment of Rs 6,300 crore.
In addition to these momentous inaugurations, PM Modi is expected to grace the city of Rajkot with a mega roadshow, celebrating the spirit of progress and development.
