Department of Public Health Dentistry conducts a health check-up camp at Bhimgarh, Kheri, Gurugram

A health check-up camp including medical as well as oral health screening and treatment was
organized by the Department of Public Health Dentistry, Faculty of Dental Sciences, SGT
University on 24th May 2023 (Wednesday) at Bhimgarh, Kheri, Gurugram in association with
SGT Publicity Team.
Dr. Charu Khurana (Reader, Dept. of Public Health Dentistry) headed the dental team along with
2 postgraduate students Dr. Alaida (Dept. of Oral Surgery), and Dr. Ayesha (Dept. of Prosthodontics)
and 6 interns Garima, Jagriti, Fiza, Mohini, and Lokesh Jatin along with Mr. Darshan- Attendant
from the Department of Public Health Dentistry. Oral health checkup of 53 individuals including
40 females and 13 males from different age groups were done.
A total of 18 patients were provided treatment in a Mobile dental van at the campsite. Along with
the screening, a health talk was delivered simultaneously on how to take care of the teeth, the importance
of brushing, and proper brushing technique. Toothbrushes, toothpaste, and oral mouthwash were
distributed to the attendees of the camp. Satisfactory feedback was obtained from the general
population. Patients were also provided basic medication based on their dental needs
The patients cherished the chance to interact with the dentists to enquire and gain knowledge
about their oral health and maintaining good oral hygiene. The patients were also given referral
slips and were referred to SGT University for further needful treatment.
The purpose of the dental camp was to create awareness in the community towards the
importance of oral health and motivate them for their oral hygiene maintenance.
