Faculty of Dental Sciences organizes an Oral Health Screening and Treatment program at Village Rehna

The Department of Public Health Dentistry of the Faculty of Dental Sciences, SGT University organized Oral Health Screening and Treatment program at Village Rehna, Nuh in collaboration with the Publicity Team of SGT University.
The Dental team was headed by Dr. Meenakshi Chopra (Associate Professor) along with 2 Postgraduates Dr. Pranav (Prosthodontics), Dr. Alida (Oral Surgery), and 5 Interns Diksha, Livanshi, Ishan, Asha, and Mumtaz) and 1 attendant Mr. Darshan. The event started at 11:30 a.m. and continued until 2:00 p.m. A screening of 32 patients was
done, which included 20 males and 12 females, of which 8 patients were treated (08 Oral Prophylaxis) in the mobile dental van at the camp location. Complicated patients were referred to SGT Dental Hospital for further treatment. Post Graduate students and Interns explained to the residents the effects of tobacco use on oral health, and the role of a balanced diet, and how to keep the oral cavity healthy. Patients received an oral hygiene kit with toothpaste, a toothbrush, and mouthwash. All the beneficiaries gave positive feedback and appreciated the check-up and treatment provided by the Dental Team. They acknowledged the way the Dental team heard and attended to their problems with compassion and were appreciative of the oral health education and counseling disseminated to them. The purpose of the dental camp was to create awareness in the community about the importance of oral
health.
