Faculty of Nursing, in collaboration with Public Health Dentistry conducts a health checkup and awareness camp
The health checkup and awareness camp was organized by the Wellbeing Association under the Community Health Nursing Department, Faculty of Nursing, in collaboration with Public Health Dentistry, Faculty of Dental Health Sciences at SGT University. This commendable initiative for the Industrial workers took place on June 13, 2023, at NIFCO India Pvt. Ltd. Imt-Manesar, Gurugram. The camp aimed to promote the health and well-being of the industrial workers and encompassed various activities. The attendees received a basic health assessment, including screenings for hypertension, diabetes, and anemia. Furthermore, a tobacco sensitization session was conducted through role play and a PowerPoint presentation, followed by dental screenings and treatment in the Mobile Dental Van. The 120 industrial workers from both shifts actively participated in the camp. The event’s success was attributed to the comprehensive health assessment and need-based education on tobacco provided, which empowered the industrial workers to take charge of their health. The health camp was skillfully organized by the Faculty Coordinator, Ms. Deepa, Mr. Naveen, Dr. Surbhi Priyadarshi, and PG & UG students from Nursing & Dental, under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Sunil K. Dular, H.O.D, Community Health Nursing Department, Prof. (Dr.) Shourya Tandon, H.O.D. Dept. of Public Health Dentistry. Their expertise and guidance contributed significantly to the success of the event. This event exemplifies how collaboration between organizations and educational institutes can significantly improve access to healthcare services and promote health awareness for all. Such initiatives will contribute to a healthier and more informed industrial workforce, thereby enhancing the overall well-being of our community.
