Harmony between academia, industry, and govt leads to the development of innovations: Hemant Kumar Gupta

Gurugram: A talk and interactive session was organised today in which Prof. Hemant Kumar Gupta, Member, Experts  Panel Invest India , Office of Principal Scientific Advisor&  Former Scientist G , Director Technology Development Fund, DRDO, Govt. of India was the guest speaker.

The program was attended by faculty members and students of various faculties of SGT University.

The program began with a formal welcome of the guests by the Master of Ceremony Dr. Radhika Rai.

The guest speaker was then welcomed by Dr. Tarashankar Head , CRC SGTU with a sapling and Dr. Rajneesh Wadhwa ,Dean – External Affairs SGT University & Director of Outreach for Sanrachna Foundation felicitated Prof. Gupta with a memento of SGT University.

The entire organising team of the program including Dr. Bharti Raina, Dr. Reshu Madan and Dr. Rishabh ensured the smooth functioning of the program.

After the ceremonial lamp lighting, the deliberations began.

Prof. Gupta spoke on the Triple Helix model for Science and technology beautifully explaining the crucial relationship between the three helices – industry, academia (university) and government and how harmony between them can result in the development of Innovations.

In spite of being a core Physicist and Scientist of repute, Prof. Gupta explained the concepts of missiles and other latest defence technology to the students in a very simplified way.

He bridged the gap between the theory and actual application of Physics n nuclear sciences.

Students were keenly interested in the topic.

Prof. Gupta also showed all the latest defense technology systems in his PowerPoint presentation which was indeed a rare treat to watch for the audience.

Besides, the science and technology involved, his presence filled the auditorium with patriotic fervor.

The defence equipment made by the DRDO for the nation caused goosebumps in the audience and made them feel proud of the nation.

After the talk, there was an interactive session in which students asked about their curiosities and the speaker was humble enough to answer them to their satisfaction.

The program ended with a Vote of Thanks which was proposed by Dr. Rajneesh Wadhwa.
