Hindi Diwas celebrated at SGT University

On September 14, 2022, SGT University had a Hindi Diwas celebration in the A block shooting hall. It was a celebration of our beautiful mother tongue, Hindi. The legislative assembly formally endorsed Hindi as a national language on this day. Every Indian had a fantasy that they could come together through the power of language, understanding, and feeling after finally achieving independence from the British raj for 200 years.
The customary lamp lighting was performed by Dr. OP Kalra, Chancellor of SGT University, to kick off the occasion. The event was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication, Prof. Sushil Manav, Dr. Sarju Devi, the Head of the Center for Language and Communication, and all of the faculty.

Mr. Raj Kumar Singh , ex-edtor, Dainik Tribune and Virendra Singh Chauhan, Deputy Chairman, Haryana Granth Akademi, were the prominent speakers for the day.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Raj Kumar Singh emphasised the value of Hindi as a language and the need to protect it for future generations. He discussed the need for greater respect and appreciation for Hindi as a national language because it is rapidly losing its uniqueness. Following that, Mr. Virendra Singh Chauhan entered the room and spoke. He revealed intriguing stories and encounters that he had, which made him realise how much Hindi has to be preserved as a language. He discussed how Mahatma Gandhi helped Hindi become the most widely spoken language in the country and achieve its status as a national language.

Additionally, he asked all of the present students and teachers to begin signing their names in Hindi so that we would never forget our roots and they would always be a part of us.

Prof. Sushil Manav, dean of the faculty of public communication and media technology, also spoke on the topic of Hindi Diwas.
Afterwards, students competed fervently in a variety of competitions. Some of the competitions held were for making posters, the Doha competition, and self-written poetry, among others.
Then, numerous trophies and awards were awarded during the prize distribution ceremony when the winners were announced. As the ceremony drew to an end, students clapped enthusiastically for their classmates.
