Oral health screening program

The Department of Public Health Dentistry (Faculty of Dental Sciences) SGT University conducted an oral health screening program on 19thOctober 2022 (Wednesday) at The Modern Senior Secondary School, Rohtak. The Dental team took initiative under the guidance of Dr. Shourya Tandon (Head of Dept & Associate Dean) in collaboration with the SGT Marketing and Admissions Team.
The team was headed by Dr. Meenakshi Chopra (Reader, Department of Public Health Dentistry) and Dr Surbhi (Assistant Professor, Department of Public Health Dentistry) along with 2 postgraduates Dr. Sugandha (Pedodontics) and Dr Ekta (Orthodontics), 6 Interns Savari, Shally, Yashi, Swati, Techi and Paominttay and 2 attendants Mr. Sunil Singh and Mr. Darshan. More than 250 students were examined in which Oral Health Education was imparted regarding the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle through brushing techniques, models and charts. The purpose of the Oral Health drive was to built awareness among the students and make them understand the importance of oral health care. Students who required dental treatment were referred to SGT Dental hospital for further treatment. The department of Public Health Dentistry are involved in organizing out-reach dental care camps along with the help of the public relations department, which helps render dental health care to the people at their doorsteps. Services which are involved are providing comprehensive oral health check-up, oral health treatment and referrals to the specialized departments at the college for remaining basic and advanced treatment and also imparting basic oral health education by the use of live demonstrations and oral health education posters. School oral health camps are conducted to ensure dissemination of knowledge regarding oral health and hygiene at a younger age and securing healthy life.
