In Bhubaneswar, PM Modi will attend the All India DGP/IGP Conference
Starting on Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to spend two days in Bhubaneswar addressing the all-India meeting of director generals and inspector generals of police.
The Prime Minister’s Office states that the three-day conference, which is scheduled to take place from November 29 to December 1, will cover a number of important topics related to national security, including narcotics, counterterrorism, left-wing extremism, coastal security, and new criminal laws.
The country’s top police leadership is going to present a plan to address current and new national security issues, such as LWE, coastal security, narcotics, cybercrime, and economic security, during the course of the conference’s following two days.
Senior police officers and security administrators across the nation will have an interactive forum to freely discuss and debate various kinds of national security-related topics, as well as operational, infrastructure, and welfare-related issues that the Indian police force faces.
Over the course of the following two days, the new criminal laws, initiatives, and best practices in law enforcement will also be reviewed.
The Statue of Unity (Kevadia, Gujarat), Guwahati, Rann of Kachchh, Hyderabad (Telangana), Tekanpur (Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh), Pune (Maharashtra), Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), New Delhi, and Jaipur (Rajasthan) have all hosted the conference.
The 59th DGsP/IGsP Conference 2024 is being held in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, in keeping with this tradition.
Ministers of State (Home Affairs), DGPs of States and UTs, Chiefs of Central Police Organisations, the Union Home Minister, the Principal Secretary to the PM, and the National Security Adviser are all expected to be present at the conference.
