Series of expert lectures in villages by agri faculty of SGT University

SGT University conducted a series of expert lectures on the 3rd of December 2021 on the occasion of “Ajadi ka Amrut Mahotsava”. The theme of the lectures was Agronomy and Plant Protection of Cereals, Oilseeds, Pulses, Vegetable Crop, and Animal Health.
The lectures were conducted in village Mohmadpur in Gurugram. Faculty members Prof. (Dr.) R.S. Yadav, Dr. Pooja Upadhyay, Asstt. Prof. (Plant Pathology), Dr. Manjeet, Asstt. Prof. (Extension Education) and Dr. Meenakshi Kumari, Asstt. Prof. (Vegetable Science) and 08 students of final year, B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture and 32 farmers were present for this seminar and actively took part.
Taking the lead, Dr. R.S. Yadav delivered a lecture about the use of fertilizer, irrigation, its application, and weed management pertaining to wheat, barley, gram, and mustard. Dr. Meenakshi Kumari continued by giving important tips on how to generate greater profit from the vegetables and how exotic vegetables can help in the process. Dr. Manjeet then imparted how to use mineral mixtures to increase milk yield. And to close the session Dr. Pooja Upadhyay discussed the important diseases of certain crops and how to manage them.
The farmers raised a few questions which were resolved there on spot. They were also made aware of important preventive measures with no cost.
