SGT University conducts farmers’ training at Kaliawas village

SGT University conducted a farmer’s training on 2nd December 2021 in Gurugram district- Village Kaliawas for the celebration of 75 years of Independence-Ajadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav. The training seminar focused on teaching how to double the farmer’s income and the Role of Good Agricultural Practices.
Prof. (Dr.) Ashok Kumar, Dean, Dr. Pooja Pant, Asstt. Prof. (Horticulture), Dr. Manjeet, Asstt. Prof. (Extension Education) and Dr. Pooja Upadhyay, Asstt. Prof. (Plant Pathology) and 10 students of final year, B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture and 47 farmers were present for the seminar and were elated to teach and to be taught, respectively.
Firstly, Prof. Ashok Kumar took the lead in informing the farmers how to increase their wheat yield under late sown conditions. Then, Dr. Pooja Pant went on to explain to the farmer how exotic vegetables being planted would profit them more than traditional vegetables. Dr. Manjeet took the lead to teach about animal health and high milk yield, and to close of the training, Dr. Pooja Upadhyay diseases related to mustard, wheat, and other crops and how to manage them.
The training seminar was concluded by telling the farmers how timely operations are necessary to reduce infestation of pests and to get higher income and profitability from the lands.
