SGT University will have classes in physical mode from February 1.

The orders to this effect were issued by the University Registrar on Saturday. The Registrar has mentioned the orders of the Haryana State Disaster Management Authority as the basis for the resumption of classes in physical form. The orders said that the students will maintain social distancing and follow Covid appropriate behaviour.

On Friday, the Haryana Government had eased some of Covid related restrictions in the state.

As per the order issued by Mr Sanjeev Kaushal, Chief Secretary- cum – Chairperson of the Haryana State Disaster Management Authority (HSDMA) “Universities, Colleges, Schools (for classes 10 to 12th only), Polytechnics, ITIs, Coaching Institutions, Libraries and Training Institutes (whether Government or private) have been allowed to open w.e.f. 01.02.2022 for physical classes while adopting requisite social distancing norms, regular sanitisation, and COVID-19 appropriate behavioural norms. Concerned institutions may advise all the students of age group more than 15 years to have at least the first dose of vaccination while attending physical classes. All the departments concerned will release guidelines for implementing the same”

The Haryana Government had earlier this month suspended physical classes in all schools amid the surge in COVID – 19 cases.

On Tuesday, Haryana Education Minister, Kanwar Pal Gurjar had tweeted: “Haryana Government has decided to open schools for the classes 10th, 11th and 12th from February 1, 2022.”

The educational institute will have to adopt requisite Social Distancing norms, regular sanitation, and Covid appropriate norms, the fresh order by the government said.

This decision will apply to both Government as well as private schools.

Haryana Government has also allowed the opening of cinema halls, theaters, and multiplexes with 50 percent seating capacity while adopting requisite social distancing norms.

The Friday order also said, “All cinema halls, theatres, multiplexes are allowed to open with 50% seating capacity while adopting requisite social distancing norms, regular sanitisation, and COVID-19 appropriate behavioural norms.”
