SGT University organizes Community based rehabilitation program

Faculty of Education, Special Education Department of SGT University visited Makrola village on Saturday.
The visit was made on the fourth day of the five-day community-based rehabilitation program series being organized by the Department of Special Education on the theme of Sensitization towards Inclusive Education with Academic Associations of QABIL
(Dept. of Special Education) & Tutelage (Dept. of Education) at different Villages nearby SGT University namely Chandu , kaliavas , Budhera , Makrola & Garhi, Gurugram on dated: 6th, 9th, 13th, 16th
& 20th April 2022.
Under the Leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Madhavi Sharma Dean, Faculty of
Education & cordinationship of Mr. Ravi Kumar Asst. Professor. along with the faculty Mr. Praveen Kumar Jat Lecturer cum Interpreter.50 students of B.Ed. & D.Ed. Special Education & Education took initiative in the awareness program and participated in the event.
The students of special education and education performed activities like rallies taken out by the students and faculty members in the village for the awareness of disability and inclusive education and a door-to-door survey was also done by the students and faculty members. Their disability and education-related counseling were taken. A street play was organized on RPWD Act, 2016 (Rights of Persons with Disabilities) with a message that “Government shall ensure PWDs enjoy the right to equality, life with dignity and respect for their own integrity.” Equally with the help of students through play aware the parents and villagers about the list of disabilities covered under the RPWD Act (21 Disabilities) their causes, examples, symptoms, treatment, etc. Discussed the role and importance of CWSN in society. All villagers were informed about inclusive education and community-based rehabilitation programs on disability.
