Department of Physiotherapy, Faculty of Behavioral Sciences & Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) organizes a workshop on ‘Gender Sensitization’

An online Expert lecture on the topic “Gender Sensitization” was organized by Faculty of Physiotherapy, Faculty of Behavioral Sciences & Internal Complaints Committee (ICC)
Ms. Aastha Dhingra, the event’s coordinator, with an introduction to gender sensitization commenced the session.
Dr. Pooja, Dean, Faculty of Physiotherapy, then gave a formal welcoming address following Dr. Professor Waheeda khan mam, Chairperson, ICC, who shared her speech stressing the accomplishments in the SGT University and the scope of the topic.
The guest speaker was Dr. Ushvinder Kaur Popli, Professor & Former Head, Department of Social Work, Jamia Millia Islamia (Central University)
In her session, the speaker discussed on variety of essential topics such as the need for gender sensitization, gender stereotyping, and gender equality, among others.
The session was very interactive and involved discussions and activities for both students and teachers. There were interesting discussions on the general experiences of life which support gender discrimination, like things as common as Bollywood movies, songs, tv serials and our day-to-day family conversations.
The workshop was attended by almost 170 people
Dr. Waheeda Khan praised the speaker, emphasizing the importance and potential of conducting such sessions offline more regularly.
