Shri Guru Gobind Singh memorial award for Dean, Agriculture, Dr. Ashok Yadav

Prof. (Dr.) Ashok Kumar was awarded Shri Guru Gobind Singh Memorial Award by the Society for Academic Research for Rural Development  for his outstanding contribution in the field of agricultural sciences. The award was given by Dr. D.K. Yadava, ADG (Seed), Krishi Bhawan, New Delhi. On the occasion Prof. O.P. Kalra, VC, SGT University and Dr. Nitin Tanwar, President (SARRD) were present. Prof. (Dr.) Ashok Kumar did his PhD from the University of Leeds, England. He is recipient of prestigious fellowships, Commonwealth Academic Staff Scholarship, UK; Indian Society of Plant Physiology; Indian Society of Agronomy; FAO, Australia; Japan International Research for Agricultural Sciences, Japan; National Academy of Agricultural Sciences, India.

Prof. Kumar is also recipient of ICAR Team Research Award; Certificate of Appreciation by CCS HAU, Hisar; Silver Jubilee Award, CCS HAU, Hisar, 1995; Secretary, Haryana Agronomists Association; Editor, Haryana Journal of Agronomy; Member, American Association for Advancement of Science; J.C. Bose Gold Medal; Felicitation Award, Haryana Agricultural University Alumni Association, Hisar; Ch. Devi Lal AICRP Award (All India Coordinated Network Project on Arid legumes, CAZRI); International President’s Award for Iconic Achievements, I.B.C., Cambridge, U.K.; Shiksha Rattan Purskar, Indian International Friendship Society, New Delhi; Certificate of Appreciation, District Administration, Karnal, Haryana; Gold Medal, Indian Society of Agronomy; Rashtriya Gaurav Award, Indian International Friendship Society, New Delhi; Lifetime Achievement in Agronomy, Venus International Foundation, Chennai.

Prof. Kumar is specialized in education management, agronomy of field crops, natural resources management, crop physiology, transfer of technology.
