Bihar Election 2025: NDA Poised for Clear Majority as Exit Polls Predict Sweeping Win

Bihar has witnessed a historic voter turnout in the 2025 Assembly Elections, with 66.91% of eligible voters casting their ballots — the highest ever in the state’s history. As the state awaits the counting of votes scheduled for Friday, all major exit polls have predicted a decisive win for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), signaling its likely return to power.

According to multiple surveys, the NDA is projected to secure between 130 and 160 seats, while the Mahagathbandhan (MGB) is expected to win around 70 to 100 seats. The Prashant Kishor-led Jan Suraaj Party (JSP) is predicted to make minimal impact, with most pollsters estimating no more than five seats.

Here’s what the major exit polls say:

  • Dainik Bhaskar: NDA 145–160, MGB 73–91, Others 5–10

  • People’s Insight: NDA 133–148, MGB 87–102, JSP 0–2, Others 3–6

  • Matrize: NDA 147–167, MGB 70–90

  • People’s Pulse: NDA 133–159, MGB 75–101, JSP 0–5

  • DVC Research: NDA 137–152, MGB 83–98, JSP 2–4, Others 4–8

Exit polls, conducted immediately after voters cast their votes, provide a snapshot of voter sentiment by asking a representative sample about their choices. The collected data is analysed to project possible election outcomes before the official counting.

While exit polls indicate a comfortable win for the NDA, political experts caution that the final results may still hold surprises. The Mahagathbandhan has rejected the predictions, expressing confidence in its performance, while Jan Suraaj maintains that its presence has influenced Bihar’s political narrative in 2025.

With public anticipation rising and all eyes on the upcoming counting day, Bihar is poised for a political turning point that could redefine its leadership and governance in the years ahead.
