Vicky Kaushal’s latest period drama, Chhaava, directed by Laxman Utekar, has provided Bollywood with a significant boost at the box office. Emerging as the highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2025 so far, Chhaava has concluded its opening weekend on a strong note. According to reports from Sacnilk, Chhaava has surpassed the Rs 100 crore milestone domestically. On Sunday, the film earned Rs 48.5 crores, bringing its total domestic earnings to Rs 116.5 crores.
Global Performance of Chhaava
The film collected Rs 53 crores worldwide on Saturday, successfully crossing the 100 crore mark on a global scale. The gross collection in India stands at Rs 81.6 crores, while its overseas earnings amount to Rs 18.4 crores. As per official figures shared by the film’s makers, *Chhaava* had earned Rs 72.40 crores in its first two days in India. Entering the prestigious 100 crore club, *Chhaava* is now Vicky Kaushal’s sixth film and Rashmika Mandanna’s eighth film to achieve this milestone. The film has already outperformed *Sam Bahadur* and is expected to surpass *Raazi* soon, making it Kaushal’s third-highest grosser.
Occupancy and Performance in Key Cities
On Sunday, *Chhaava* recorded an occupancy rate of 62.48% across India, with 6,670 shows running nationwide. Pune led in occupancy with an impressive 94.50% across 736 shows, followed by Mumbai at 87.25% with 1,441 shows. Hyderabad observed a 72.50% occupancy rate with 345 shows, while Chennai recorded 72% occupancy with 94 shows. In contrast, Delhi-NCR saw a lower occupancy rate of 44% across 1,356 shows. With strong word-of-mouth and sustained demand, *Chhaava* is expected to maintain its momentum in the coming days. The film’s performance so far indicates that it could set new benchmarks for historical dramas in Bollywood.
