Faculty of Education organizes Faculty Development Program on “Advanced Pedagogical Techniques”

Faculty of Education, SGT University, Gurugram conducted a Faculty Development Program on “Advanced Pedagogical Techniques’.

The outline of the program was addressed by Prof. (Dr.) Madhavi Sharma, Dean, Faculty of Education.

Prof. (Dr.) Vikas Dhawan, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Academics), SGT University, Gurugram gave the inaugural address.

He laid stress on building up the teacher competencies and how innovation and creative skills should be imparted to students at a very early stage and also the ethical practices that should be followed by the teachers.

The resource persons for today’s sessions were Dr. Ram Murti Sharma, Assistant Professor, Department of Education, University of Delhi; Prof. (Dr.) Rajbir Singh, Dean, Faculty of Behavioural Science, SGT University, Gurugram; and Dr. Bushra Sumaiya, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Education, SGT University, Gurugram.

The program was co-organized by Dr. Bushra Sumaiya and Dr. Shagufta Nazneen Ansari.

The faculty members of various faculties of SGT University, Gurugram attended the sessions.

The first resource person, Professor. Ram Murti Sharma talked about how learning can be achieved through different pedagogical techniques by involving students in them.

The next session was addressed by Prof. Rajbir Singh who laid emphasis on developing critical thinking by different methods and techniques.

2nd June 2022 is the third day of the Faculty development program (FDP) The resource persons for today’s sessions are Dr. Sunil Kumar,

Assistant Professor, Department of Education (CIE), University of Delhi,

and Prof. (Dr.) Pritam Singh Grover, Ex-Dean, Director & Head, Department of Computer Science, University of Delhi. The faculty members of various faculties of SGT University, Gurugram attended the sessions.

The first resource person, Dr. Sunil Kumar talked about the Herbartian approach for Unit Planning and Lesson Planning and Designing quality question papers and effective Rubrics.

The second resource person, Prof. (Dr.) Pritam Singh Grover will talk about Outcome-based Education.

Madhvi Sharma proposed a vote of thanks to the resource person for giving their valuable time.
