Now Get Food from 40,000+ Restaurants Delivered to Your Train Seat
Good news for train travellers! Now, you don’t have to worry about boring train meals or limited food options during your journey. With the newly launched Food on Train feature on the MakeMyTrip app, passengers can now order food from over 40,000 Zomato restaurants across India and get it delivered straight to their train seat.
On Wednesday, MakeMyTrip, one of India’s leading travel companies, officially announced its partnership with Zomato to provide this service at 130+ major train stations across the country. The initiative aims to make long train journeys more comfortable by giving passengers the option to choose from a wide variety of cuisines, ranging from local delicacies to popular restaurant meals.
The new feature not only makes food ordering seamless but also integrates with the Live Train Status tracker. This ensures smooth delivery and timely service, so passengers don’t miss their meals due to delays or early arrivals. Whether it’s breakfast, lunch, snacks, or dinner, travellers can now have fresh food of their choice without depending only on pantry car meals.
According to reports, the demand for quality food on trains has been steadily increasing. Indian Railways’ e-catering services already serve thousands of passengers daily, and this collaboration between MakeMyTrip and Zomato takes things a step further by widening the food options available.
To celebrate this launch, MakeMyTrip is also offering a special Diwali deal. Passengers booking their tickets on the app will receive a Zomato coupon, redeemable on food orders during their train journey.
