India Forms Seven Groups to Tackle West Asia Crisis Impact

India has taken a significant step to address the potential long-term impacts of the ongoing conflict in West Asia. Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the formation of seven empowered groups aimed at managing challenges related to fuel supply, fertilizers, natural gas, inflation, and supply chains.

Speaking in the Rajya Sabha, the Prime Minister highlighted the “serious side effects” of the conflict and stressed the need for preparedness. He urged all states to collaborate with the Centre under a “Team India” approach to effectively handle the crisis.

The government has maintained that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only viable solutions for restoring peace in the region. India is also in continuous contact with key global players, including Iran, Israel, and the United States, to advocate for de-escalation.

The ongoing conflict has raised concerns about disruptions in essential supplies such as crude oil, natural gas, and fertilizers. Acknowledging these risks, Prime Minister Modi emphasized that self-reliance will be crucial in ensuring stability in the coming months.

The government is actively working to diversify its fuel and energy sources to minimize dependence on any single region. Additionally, strict measures are being implemented to prevent black marketing and hoarding of essential commodities.

With global energy markets under pressure, India’s proactive strategy reflects its commitment to safeguarding the economy and ensuring that citizens remain unaffected by external shocks.
