Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday (November 25, 2025) hoisted the saffron Dharma Dhwaj at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, formally marking the completion of the temple’s construction. The triangular flag, measuring 10 feet by 20 feet, carried symbols of immense cultural value, including a radiant Sun representing Lord Ram’s valour, an ‘Om’, and the sacred Kovidara tree.

The ceremony witnessed the presence of several dignitaries, including RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Addressing the gathering, Prime Minister Modi called the moment “a tipping point in India’s cultural consciousness,” celebrating the culmination of centuries of devotion and perseverance. He chanted “Siyawar Ramchandra ki Jai,” highlighting the spiritual significance of the occasion.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath described the flag hoisting as the beginning of a new era for Ayodhya and India. He said the saffron flag represented “religion, dignity, truth, justice, and national identity,” adding that Ayodhya now reflects the synergy of development and heritage—symbolising the vision of a New India.

Ahead of the Prime Minister’s arrival, Ayodhya was filled with devotional chants of “Jai Shri Ram.” Thousands of devotees and seers participated in the sacred “Dhwaj Arohan” ceremony, marking it as a moment of historic fulfilment.

To ensure tight security, 6,970 personnel, including ATS commandos, NSG snipers, cyber teams, anti-drone units, and specialised forces, were deployed across the temple town. Security checks, vehicle screenings, and surveillance systems were intensified around the temple complex and major entry points.

During his visit, Prime Minister Modi also offered prayers at the Ram Darbar Garbh Grah, Ram Lalla Garbh Grah, Saptmandir, Sheshavtar Mandir, and Mata Annapurna Temple. The newly completed temple complex features 87 carved stone episodes from the Valmiki Ramayana on the outer walls and 79 bronze depictions from Indian culture along the enclosure.

The event not only marks the completion of the Ram Temple but also reflects Ayodhya’s transformation into a global cultural and spiritual destination. With millions of devotees visiting since the Pran Pratishtha ceremony, the city continues to rise as a symbol of tradition, faith, and modern development.
