The number of cyber-attacks has increased worldwide. Not only Android phones but also iOS are worried about this. Apple’s iPhones are considered to be the most secure, but if they warn of any spyware attack then the tension only increases. According to reports, Apple has warned users in India and 91 other countries that their phones may be at risk of a ‘Mercenary Spyware’ attack. This software can try to control your phone without informing you.

Let us know what is Mercenary Spyware and how they attack.

Mercenary Spyware is different from common thieves or viruses because they are made in a very complex manner and target only specific people. It is difficult to stop or catch them because they cost a lot of money and do not work for long. Generally, most people are not at risk from these, but they are one of the most dangerous digital attacks in the world. That is why Apple did not even tell from where or who carried out these attacks.

But This is not the first time

This is Apple’s second warning. Last year in October 2023, Apple had given a similar warning to users around the world, including India. At that time it was said that these attacks were being carried out by state sponsors.

Let us know what was the previous notification.

As we reported, Apple has given such warnings earlier also. Last October, users around the world, especially in India, reported that efforts were being made to target certain people, such as journalists, activists, politicians, or diplomats, and steal their information. Those carrying out these attacks may be linked to government agencies, although Apple did not clarify who was behind it. These attacks target very few people but are happening continuously around the world.
Apple has advised those who have been warned of the danger to turn on lockdown mode. This will increase the security of their phone.
