Commercial LPG Cylinder Prices Slashed by Rs 41 from Today
Oil marketing companies (OMCs) have lowered the price of 19-kg commercial LPG cylinders by Rs 41, effective today. This reduction brings relief to commercial establishments such as restaurants and hotels. The price cut follows a previous increase of Rs 6 on commercial LPG cylinders across major cities on March 1. The new price of a commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi is now Rs 1,762, down from the previous price of Rs 1,803.
In other major cities, the price reduction is also significant. In Kolkata, the price has dropped from Rs 1,913 to Rs 1,872, while in Mumbai, it is now Rs 1,714.50. In Chennai, the price of a commercial LPG cylinder stands at Rs 1,924.50 after the reduction. The differences in prices across cities are mainly due to variations in local taxes and transportation costs.
Despite the decrease in commercial LPG prices, the cost of domestic LPG cylinders, which are commonly used in households, remains unchanged. This price cut will offer some relief to small businesses that heavily rely on commercial LPG for cooking and other essential operations.
The cost of commercial LPG cylinders has been a significant concern for many business owners, particularly in the hospitality industry, where cooking expenses represent a large portion of operational costs. The recent price reduction is expected to ease some financial pressure on these businesses as they continue to recover from the ongoing challenges in the post-pandemic economy.
