Daulatabad Chowk Service Road Entry to Dwarka Expressway Closed Till April 30
GURUGRAM: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has announced that entry to the Dwarka Expressway from the elevated service road at Daulatabad Chowk towards Delhi will be closed from March 18 to April 30. This closure is necessary for the replacement of expansion joints, according to an official statement issued by the NHAI on Monday.
Commuters from Dhankot and Basai traveling towards Delhi are advised to take the service road and merge onto the main carriageway after the Bijwasan toll plaza. However, all other traffic movements on the expressway will remain unaffected, as stated in NHAI’s announcement on X (formerly Twitter).
Commuters Express Concerns Over Traffic Disruptions
The closure of this vital entry point has raised concerns among daily commuters about potential traffic congestion and delays. Many residents believe that the service road is already overcrowded, and diverting more traffic onto it will exacerbate the situation.
Piyush Verma, a resident of Sobha City in Sector 108, expressed his worries, stating, “This will create massive congestion during peak hours. The authorities should have planned an alternative route to avoid inconvenience.”
Call for Improved Traffic Management
Many commuters feel that the NHAI should implement additional traffic management strategies to minimize disruption during the closure. Suggestions include:
– Deploying additional traffic personnel to regulate the flow
– Setting up temporary diversions to ease congestion
– Providing real-time traffic updates through digital platforms
While road expansion work is necessary, authorities need to ensure minimal inconvenience to daily commuters through better planning and execution.
