Haryana BJP to Send Migrant Workers Home for Bihar Polls
The upcoming Bihar Assembly elections have sparked an interesting initiative beyond the state’s borders. The Haryana unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has launched a large-scale plan to help around 2.5 to 3 lakh Bihari migrant workers return home to cast their votes.
This campaign is part of the BJP’s broader strategy to ensure higher voter participation in Bihar. The idea is not just to help party supporters but to encourage every migrant to exercise their right to vote, setting an example for others to follow.
A senior BJP leader from Haryana shared that the party has already identified thousands of Bihari workers living across ten major districts — including Gurugram, Faridabad, Panipat, Rohtak, Sonipat, Palwal, and Karnal. Many of these workers are employed in industrial zones and remain registered as voters in Bihar. “We have already connected with over one lakh voters,” said the source. “Our goal is to make sure they reach Bihar on election day.”
To make this possible, the party has assigned over 500 volunteers (Vistarakas) from districts like Panipat, who will travel to Bihar to mobilize voters. Senior leaders, including Union Minister Krishan Pal Gurjar and Haryana ministers Vipul Goyal and Rao Narbir Singh, are personally monitoring the campaign. Around 25 senior leaders are already stationed in Bihar to manage the outreach.
The Haryana BJP is also addressing practical hurdles that often stop migrant workers from voting. The party is coordinating with factory owners to grant paid leave so workers can travel home without losing wages.
To ensure smooth travel, special buses will run from Haryana to Bihar around November 1 or 2, with return trips after the election. This well-planned effort highlights how seriously the party views migrant voters as an important and influential group.
Meanwhile, the Haryana government is also preparing for Chhath Puja celebrations. Chief Minister Nayab Saini has directed district administrations in Gurugram, Faridabad, and Panchkula to ensure proper sanitation, lighting, and crowd management at ghats. These arrangements will help devotees celebrate Chhath comfortably and safely.
Through this initiative, Haryana BJP has not only shown political planning but also set an example of voter awareness and civic responsibility — encouraging people to value their vote, no matter where they live.
