Haryana Urban Body Elections 2025: Voting on March 2 & 9, Results on March 12
After a long wait of over two years, the Haryana Urban Body Elections 2025 have been officially announced. The elections will be held in seven municipal corporations, four municipal councils, and 21 municipalities simultaneously, while the election for one municipal corporation will take place later.
Election Schedule & Phases
- March 2, 2025 – Voting in Faridabad, Gurugram, Manesar, Panipat, Hisar, Karnal, Rohtak, and Yamuna Nagar Municipal Corporations, along with Pataudi (Gurugram), Thanesar (Kurukshetra), Sirsa, and Ambala Cantonment Municipal Councils.
- March 9, 2025 – Panipat Municipal Corporation election in the second phase.
- March 12, 2025 – Counting of votes and results declaration for both phases.

- Elections in 34 Urban Bodies – Covering municipal corporations, councils, and municipalities.
- Mayor By-Elections – To be held in Ambala and Sonipat Municipal Corporations.
- Model Code of Conduct – Enforced in all areas where elections are scheduled.
- Transfers & Postings Restricted – No administrative transfers allowed in affected districts.
- Budget Session Delayed – The Haryana Budget session has been rescheduled due to elections.
Election Commissioner’s Statement
While announcing the election schedule on Tuesday, Haryana Election Commissioner Dhanpat Singh stated that all necessary arrangements have been made to ensure free, fair, and transparent elections across the state. Strict security measures will be in place to prevent any irregularities.
The Model Code of Conduct is now in effect in all constituencies where elections are to be held. However, ongoing development projects and government work will not be affected.
