Khelo India Para Games 2025: Haryana Leads Medal Tally, Tamil Nadu in Close Pursuit

The Khelo India Para Games 2025 (KIPG 2025), the second edition of India’s premier multi-sport para event, is in full swing in New Delhi. With over 1,300 para-athletes from across the country competing, the event showcases exceptional talent in six sports.

As of now, Haryana is leading the KIPG 2025 medal tally with 31 gold, 36 silver, and 29 bronze medals. Tamil Nadu follows closely in second place with 26 gold, 17 silver, and 25 bronze medals.

About KIPG 2025

The week-long Paralympics-style event, which began on March 20, 2025, is being held across three key venues in New Delhi:

  • Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium
  • Indira Gandhi Stadium
  • Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range

Athletes are competing in six disciplines:
  Para Archery
  Para Athletics
  Para Badminton
  Para Shooting
  Para Table Tennis
  Para Powerlifting

Notably, para football, which was part of the inaugural KIPG 2023, has been dropped from this year’s edition.

Medal Format & Championship Race

The Khelo India Para Games follow a team championship format, where medals won by individual athletes contribute to their state’s overall tally. The state or institution with the most gold medals at the event’s conclusion will be crowned the winner.

Haryana dominated the inaugural KIPG 2023, securing 40 gold, 39 silver, and 26 bronze medals to claim the title. Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu had finished second and third, respectively.

This year’s edition features top-tier para-athletes, including medalists from the Paris 2024 Paralympics and the Asian Para Games. Some of the biggest names in action include:
