NH-48 Closure Alert: Traffic Diversions in Gurugram for Footbridge Construction

In a significant effort to enhance pedestrian safety, the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has begun constructing a footbridge on National Highway 48 (NH-48) at Narsinghpur. Consequently, the highway will be closed for vehicular traffic on the night of March 26-27, 2025, from 12:01 AM to 6:00 AM.

To minimize inconvenience for commuters, GMDA has developed a traffic diversion plan:

– Delhi to Jaipur Route: Vehicles will be redirected via Hero Honda Chowk. Drivers should turn right at the red light at Subhash Chowk, continue straight to join the SPR-Dwarka Road, and eventually merge back onto NH-48.

– Jaipur to Delhi Route: Commuters will bypass the construction zone using the Dwarka Expressway after crossing the Kherki Daula toll plaza.

– Jaipur to Gurugram Route: After passing the Kherki Daula toll, vehicles should take the Dwarka Expressway, make a U-turn at Ellan Chowk, and proceed along SPR Road. A left turn at the red light at Vatika Chowk, followed by a straight route through Rajiv Chowk, will lead them to their destinations.

The temporary road closure is a necessary measure to improve safety along NH-48 and reduce pedestrian-related accidents in this high-traffic corridor. While commuters may experience delays due to these diversions, the long-term benefits of the project will outweigh the temporary disruptions.

Advisory for Commuters: Travelers are encouraged to plan their journeys and allow extra time for detours. The GMDA urges commuters to cooperate and follow the designated routes to ensure smooth traffic movement during the closure period.
