PM Modi Meets Macron & JD Vance at Paris Dinner Ahead of AI Summit
Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Paris on Monday and attended a special welcome dinner hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace. The dinner, held ahead of the highly anticipated Artificial Intelligence (AI) Summit, provided an opportunity for global leaders to engage in discussions about technology, innovation, and strategic partnerships.
Upon his arrival, PM Modi received a warm embrace from President Macron, highlighting the strong diplomatic ties between India and France. During the event, PM Modi also met US Vice President JD Vance, marking their first official interaction since Vance took office last month. The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) later shared images of the three leaders engaged in conversation, underscoring the importance of this diplomatic engagement.
Earlier in the evening, PM Modi received an enthusiastic welcome from the Indian community in Paris. Despite the cold weather, hundreds gathered to greet him, waving Indian flags and chanting slogans of support. Expressing his gratitude, PM Modi said, “A memorable welcome in Paris! The cold weather didn’t deter the Indian community from showing their affection. I am grateful to our diaspora and proud of their accomplishments.”
As part of his visit, PM Modi and President Macron will travel to Marseille, where they will visit the Mazargues War Cemetery to honor Indian soldiers who fought during World War I. The two leaders will also jointly inaugurate the Consulate General of India in Marseille, further strengthening India-France diplomatic relations.
PM Modi’s visit will conclude with a significant tour of the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) in Cadarache. This ambitious international project aims to develop clean nuclear fusion energy, with India playing a key role as a partner. The visit emphasizes India’s commitment to sustainable energy solutions and global scientific collaboration.
With India and France deepening their strategic cooperation in AI, defense, and energy, PM Modi’s visit to Paris represents a crucial step toward fostering global innovation and strengthening diplomatic ties.
