SGT University Hosts Workshop on Guided Bone Regeneration

The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Faculty of Dental Sciences, SGT University, hosted a guest lecture and hands-on workshop on “Guided Bone Regeneration with Bio-Oss and Geistlich Biomaterials” on March 9, 2026. The event was conducted by Dr. Poonam Malik, an expert in implant dentistry, focusing on advanced techniques for bone regeneration crucial for successful dental implants.

Dr. Malik discussed the principles of Guided Bone Regeneration (GBR), the impact of bone deficiencies on implant placement, and the importance of restoring bone volume for long-term stability. She covered clinical decision-making, surgical protocols, and post-operative care related to GBR.

A key part of the session was the exploration of biomaterials like Bio-Oss and Geistlich, including their properties and applications in regenerative dentistry. Participants gained practical knowledge to select appropriate materials for various clinical scenarios.
