SGTU Celebrates Radha-Krishna Phoolon Ki Holi with Devotion and Cultural Grandeur
A Wave of Joy and Devotion Marks Radha-Krishna Phoolon Ki Holi Celebrations
Gurugram: The sprawling campus of Shree Guru Gobind Singh Tricentenary University (SGTU) turned into a divine courtyard of Braj as it hosted a grand celebration of Radha-Krishna Phoolon Ki Holi. Without colours, gulal, or water, the university celebrated Holi exclusively with flowers, creating a spiritually vibrant and environmentally conscious festivity.
Thousands of students, faculty members, officers, and staff participated with unmatched enthusiasm and boundless joy. The atmosphere resonated with devotion and reverence for Radha and Lord Krishna, making the flower-only Holi celebration a cherished memory for everyone present.
A Cultural Symphony of Devotion and Diversity
The celebration began at 10:00 a.m. with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by a graceful Welcome Dance titled “Ritu Vasant.” A vibrant folk performance beautifully portrayed Holi as celebrated in Maharashtra, blending storytelling, the divine aura of spring, and festive rhythm.
A soulful Sufi dance presentation reflected mystical devotion harmoniously intertwined with the joyous spirit of Holi. The theatre comedy act that followed brought waves of laughter, delighting students and dignitaries alike.
The Bengali dance “Phagun Haway Haway” depicted the transition of seasons and the festive arrival of spring. The classical-inspired performance “Rang Rang De” symbolically expressed the purity and deeper meaning of colours in love and life.
The energetic Gujarati Garba performance “Ranchor Rangeela” showcased Krishna in his vibrant form, leading to the much-awaited Maharas of Kanha Ji. The dance “Kanha Tere Sang Bandhi Hai Dori” emotionally portrayed the eternal bond between Radha, Krishna, and the Gopis, leaving the audience spellbound.
A high-energy Tollywood-inspired act “Lahe Lahe” celebrated India’s cultural diversity, while the iconic Holi song “Rang Barse Bheege Chunarwali” filled the venue with festive excitement and collective celebration.
The devotional presentation “Bhakti Ki Shakti (Narsingh and Prahlad)” beautifully narrated the story of Prahlad, symbolizing the triumph of faith and devotion. The Coke Studio-inspired fusion performance “Rang Darungi Nand Ke Lalan Pe” creatively blended Indian classical singing, rap, and Western dance, striking a chord with the youth.

One of the most impactful segments was the grand dance-drama depiction of Braj Ki Holi, dedicated to the eternal remembrance of Radha and Lord Krishna, vividly showcasing the cultural traditions of the Braj region.
The Grand Finale: Phoolon Ki Holi
The highlight of the celebration was the ceremonial arrival of Radha-Krishna idols. After traditional worship conducted by the university management, the much-awaited Phoolon Ki Holi began. As petals filled the air, the entire campus immersed itself in devotion and festivity, with celebrations continuing for hours.
The event was graced by Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan awardee Ram Bahadur Rai, Chancellor of SGTU, Mrs. Madhu Preet Kaur Chawla, Chairperson of Dashmesh Charitable Trust, Manmohan Singh Chawla, Managing Trustee, and Vice Chancellor (Dr.) Hemant Verma, Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Atul Nasa, and Jaipal Malik, State Director (Retd.), Nehru Yuva Kendra, Government of India, among other dignitaries.
The celebration stood as a vibrant testimony to cultural unity, devotion, environmental consciousness, and the collective spirit of the SGTU community.
