Over 1500 to compete as Yugam-2022 gets begins at SGT University

The three-day Youth Festival Yugam-2022, commenced at Shree Guru Gobind Singh Tricentenary (SGT) University, Gurugram on Thursday.

More than 1,500 participants from various colleges and universities will compete in over 33 different events which will be organized at various places inside the SGT campus.

Renowned Kathak Dancer Anu Sinha was the chief guest for the opening event and inaugurated the festival with a lamp lighting ceremony along with Mrs. Madhupreet Kaur Chawla, Chairperson, Mr. Manmohan Singh Chawla, Managing Trustee, of Dashmesh Educational Charitable Trust, Vice-Chancellor (VC) Vinod Kumar, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof. Vikas Dhawan, and Director of Students Welfare, Dr Vijay Sharma.

While addressing the students and the participants, chief guest Anu Sinha said that the Youth Festival is a big platform for the students to showcase their talent.

She further said that besides celebrations, the students must understand the importance of nature and they must involve themselves in sapling plantations to save the earth from global warming. Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Vinod Kumar welcomed all the students and participants.

Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof. Vikas Dhawan praised the zeal of the youths of SGT University and participants and said that a total of 33 events will take place from May 19 to May 21. Prof. Dhawan further said that a total of 15 events were held on the first day under various categories like sports, culture, and academics.

On the first day of Yugam-2022, students from various colleges and universities participated in the event. A total of 15 events like cooking, debate, solo dance, business plan, rangoli, best out of waste, tattoo making, land gaming, short film, word chain, and Nukkad Natak were the events that took place at various locations of SGT University.
