SGTU Successfully Hosts 3rd Ranka International Trial Advocacy Competition 2026
SGT University successfully hosted the 3rd SGTU-Ranka International Trial Advocacy Competition (ITAC) 2026 from March 13 to 15. This event provided a dynamic platform for law students to showcase their litigation and courtroom skills. Organized by the Faculty of Law in collaboration with the Ranka Charitable Trust, the prestigious competition brought together talented participants from various law schools, enabling them to participate in real-time trial simulations.
The competition focused on enhancing practical legal education by strengthening advocacy skills, legal research, arbitration techniques, and client counseling. The inaugural ceremony marked an inspiring beginning and was held under the esteemed patronage of Raghuvendra S. Ranka. Notable guests included J.K. Maheshwari, Judge of the Supreme Court of India, who served as the Chief Guest; Neena Bansal Krishna, the Guest of Honour; and Ashok Kumar Jain, the Special Guest. Their presence motivated participants and underscored the importance of practical exposure in legal education.
Over three days, participants engaged in intense courtroom proceedings, presenting arguments, examining witnesses, and demonstrating their advocacy skills in a competitive environment designed to reflect real-world court scenarios.
The valedictory ceremony celebrated the conclusion of the competition and honored excellence in legal advocacy. A distinguished panel, including Rachna Gupta, Pramod Kumar Dubey, Gauhar Mirza, and Avnit Singh Arora, judged the final round. The ceremony was attended by Chief Guest Rajesh Tandon, along with distinguished guests Amit Jindal and Sudhir Mishra.
In the final results, Symbiosis School of Law Hyderabad emerged as the winner while KIIT School of Law secured the runner-up position. The event was led by Richa Chaudhary and efficiently coordinated by Maharishi Kr. Kasaudhan and Deepshikha Kataria.
The competition not only celebrated legal excellence but also reinforced the importance of experiential learning in shaping future legal professionals. Participants gained valuable insights into courtroom procedures, marking a significant milestone in their legal journey.
