“Speak Out” launched at SGT University, debate on India’s GDP growth held

Faculty of Mass Communication and Media technology in collaboration with the Faculty of Commerce and Management organised a debate discussion on “India’s Double Digit Growth: Is This India’s Road to Numero Uno Economy of the World”.

The event started with the lighting of the lamp by Prof. Vikas Dhawan, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Academics). Prof. Dhawan lauded the efforts of the students. Prof. Sushil Manav, Dean, Faculty of Mass Communication and Media Technology, said that the debate series under the name of “Speak Out” has been started to inculcate critical thinking and debating traits among students. Dr. Rishi Dubey, Dean, Faculty of Commerce and Management, was also present. Dr. Sarju Devi, HoD, Centre for Languages and Communication, Mr. Shashi Kumar Pandey and Mr. Amardeep Singh acted as judges. Dr. Radhika Rai, Mr. Biswambhar Bose, Ms. Bhawna Tomar and Ms. Shipra had worked hard to prepare the students for the debate. Sakshi, a student of the Faculty of Mass Communication and Media Technology, moderated the event, while students from the Faculty of Commerce and Management and Mass Communication participated.  It was a fruitful discussion as the students went back and forth, resulting in an informative and successful debate.

Uttkarsha Sharma, from the Faculty of Mass Communication and Media Technology, wins first prize. The prize of first runnerup was given to Ayush and Dhruv and was followed by the second runner-up Aditya. Participation awards were given to all the participants
