Global City in Gurugram to Set New Benchmarks in Urban Development: CM Saini

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has announced that the upcoming Global City project in Gurugram will serve as a transformative milestone in the state’s development journey. He stated that the city will be developed to meet international standards and will cater to both national and global investors.

The chief minister made this announcement while presiding over an investor meeting at the site of the Global City project on Friday. The meeting was attended by Industry and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh, as well as MLAs Bimla Chaudhary, Tejpal Tanwar, and Mukesh Sharma.

CM Saini emphasized that the Global City will cover over 1,000 acres, with more than ₹1 lakh crore invested in its development. The project is expected to benefit approximately 1.6 million people directly and generate nearly 500,000 employment opportunities, making it one of the largest development projects in the region.

Designed as a mixed-use development, the project will include designated zones for residential, commercial, hospitality, and educational institutions. “This is not just a city, but a vision for future-ready urban living,” said CM Saini.

Connectivity is another major highlight of Global City. According to the chief minister, the site is only 30 minutes from Delhi International Airport, 20 minutes from the railway station, and just 10 minutes from the heliport and the upcoming Multimodal Transit Hub, ensuring swift access for both businesses and residents.

The first phase of the project will be developed on 587 acres, with a budget allocation of ₹940 crore. It is expected to be completed by the end of next year, bringing the vision of a futuristic city closer to reality.

To ensure sustainable development, a mass balancing reservoir with a capacity of 350 million liters will be constructed over 18 acres. This will serve both functional and aesthetic purposes by providing a seven-day backup water supply and enhancing the city’s visual appeal.

Additionally, the city will feature a 10.7-kilometer-long utility tunnel equipped with provisions for water pipelines, electric cables, fire services, ventilation, lighting, fire detection systems, and earthing. “This kind of advanced infrastructure sets a benchmark not only for Haryana but for the entire country,” said CM Saini.
