SGT University Students Conduct Live Reporting from Haryana’s Guru Teg Bahadur Ji Yatra

Students from SGT University’s School of Emerging Media, Communication and Film Studies — Ashutosh Tyagi and Suryansh Kataria — actively participated in Haryana’s state-wide sacred yatra by conducting live on-ground reporting. The procession is part of the grand commemoration of the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Teg Bahadur Ji, covering multiple districts with religious gatherings, cultural programs, and community events.

The yatras began in Sirsa, Pinjore, Faridabad, and Yamunanagar, moving across significant Sikh heritage locations associated with Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s travels. Each district hosted prayers, kirtan, seminars, and youth engagement activities. The state government and Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee coordinated logistics, safety, and cultural programming to ensure smooth movement across the state.

All yatras will unite in Kurukshetra on November 24, followed by a large Mahasamagam on November 25, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be the chief guest.

For SGT University students, this large-scale coverage provided a meaningful experience in field reporting, crowd coordination, event observation, and real-time news gathering, strengthening their practical journalism skills.
