Haryana CM Studies Singapore Models for Gurugram Convention Centre

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini visited Singapore to study international infrastructure models and explore opportunities for investment and cooperation that could support the state’s development plans.
A key focus of the visit was the proposed development of a world-class convention centre in Gurugram. During his visit to Suntec City, Saini examined its convention facilities, modern engineering, construction techniques and operational systems. The Haryana government aims to draw on international practices while planning infrastructure capable of hosting major conferences, exhibitions and business events.
The Chief Minister also visited Gardens by the Bay to study approaches to urban development, nature conservation and water management. These visits formed part of the state’s broader effort to understand how global infrastructure and facility management models could inform future projects in Haryana.
The proposed convention centre is expected to strengthen Gurugram’s position as a destination for international business events and conferences. Improved facilities could also support investment activity, business networking and economic development in the region.
Investment promotion was another important part of the Singapore visit. Saini participated in programmes connected with the Singapore-India Network for Growth Forum and engaged with investors, industry representatives and business leaders.
The state identified several priority sectors for potential collaboration, including semiconductors, advanced manufacturing, logistics, agro and food processing, aviation, education and Global Capability Centres. The Haryana government has emphasised its ambition to attract international businesses, encourage industrial expansion and build partnerships in emerging industries.
The visit reflects Haryana’s efforts to study international development models while strengthening its appeal to global investors. By combining infrastructure planning with investment outreach, the state aims to support industrial growth, improve facilities and create opportunities for future economic cooperation.

The proposed Gurugram convention centre remains one of the infrastructure initiatives being explored as Haryana looks to expand its role as a business and investment destination.
