Department of Public Health Dentistry, SGT University organises oral health camp at Wazirabad village

Department of Public Health Dentistry, Faculty of Dental Sciences, SGT University organized an oral health screening and treatment camp on Friday at wazirabad village, Sec- 52 Gurugram in association with the Medical fraternity and SGTU Publicity Team. The Dental team took initiative under the guidance of Professor Head and Associate Dean Dr. Shourya Tandon was headed by Assistant Professor, Ph.D. Department Dr. Charu Khurana along with four postgraduates from different departments, four interns with two attendants Ph.D. Department to celebrate the occasion of World Oral Health Week. Oral health education was imparted to the people and proper brushing technique was demonstrated to both adult and child patients. A total of 42 patients were examined which included 24 males and 18 females and 21 patients were provided treatment in Mobile Dental Van on the campsite. Patients who required complex treatment were referred to Dental Hospital in SGT University. The general population gave positive feedback and appreciated the check-up and treatment provided by the Dental Team. They acknowledged the way the Dental team heard and attended to their problems with compassion and were appreciative of the oral health education and counseling disseminated to them. The interns appreciated the opportunity provided to them to interact with patients in a community setting leading to improvement in their soft skills and approach towards patients in an outreach location, they also expressed their wish to participate in such activities in the future. The purpose of the dental camp was to promote World Oral Health Day 2022 and create awareness in the community towards the importance of oral health and make them realize to “Be Proud of their Mouth for Happiness and Well Being”.
