Expert talk on Kitchen Gardening organised by Faculty of Mass Communication and Media Technology

Agriculture plays a chiefly role in the economy. It is considered the backbone of the economic system of developing countries. For decades, agriculture has been related to the production of vital food crops. Keeping the importance of agriculture in mind, the Faculty of Mass Communication and Media Technology, Association of Media and Communicators organized an expert talk on the topic ‘KITCHEN GARDENING: A GOOD HOBBY FOR PERFECT HEALTH’. The talk was conducted on 2nd June 2022. The speaker for this expert talk was Dr. Manjeet Panwar, Assistant Professor, FASC, SGT University.

Dr. Manjeet focused on various factors related to kitchen gardening and how we can save money and grow the vegetables free from chemicals; he further added the advantage of kitchen gardening, which includes being eco-friendly and saving electricity from refrigerators used to keep the vegetables fresh. Dr. Panwar explained that starting a garden kitchen can bring down the number of trips to the vegetable market; therefore, it saves fuel & energy.

In the beginning of the programme, Dean, Faculty of Mass Communication and Media Technology Prof. Sushil Manav welcomed the guest and encouraged students to organise more programmes of the Association of Media and Communicators. Advisor of SGT University Mr. Pankaj Rakesh motivated students to work hard in their life.

This lecture was attended by all the faculty members and students, and Mr. S K Pandey, Associate Professor, FMMT, proposed the vote of thanks. The programme was moderated by Sakshi Yadav (Member, Association of Media and Communicators).
