SERB scientist holds interactive session research grant proposals in SGT University

A talk and interactive session was organized today on the topic ‘Your Grant Application- A Perspective’ by Dr. Rajeev Mehajan – Scientist G & Adviser, Science & Engineering Research Board (DST), Govt. of India).
The deliberations began after the ceremonial lamp lighting by the dignitaries and on the proposal of the Honourable VC, lamp lighting was joined in by one faculty member of SGTU Dr. Raj Shirumalla who has recently received an extramural grant among many others.
Dr. Mehajan delivered a mesmerizing talk on how SERB with a 1000 crore yearly corpus continues to fund research activities under its various schemes.
Dr. Mehajan highlighted the importance of research proposals being original, interdisciplinary, disruptive, and impactful for them to be considered favorably.
Dr. Mehajan who is one of the senior-most scientists at SERB, DST indeed gave a beautiful insight into the aspects that should be taken care of while writing a research grant proposal stressing the importance of the ‘ABC’ in writing a grant proposal (Accuracy, Brevity & Clarity) in a very simplified way.
After the talk, there was an interactive session in which students asked about their curiosities and the speaker was humble enough to answer them to their satisfaction.
The program began with a formal welcome of the guests by the Master of Ceremony Dr. Radhika Rai.
The guest speaker was then presented by a Sapling by Sh. Krishna, President, Sanrachna, and a memento of SGT University by The Vice-Chancellor.
Sh. Rajneesh Wadhwa, Dean of External Affairs, SGT University was the chief organizer.
The entire team of organizers encompassing Head CRC, Dr. Tarashankar, Dr. Bharti Raina & Mr. Rishabh ensured the smooth functioning of the program.
