SGT University Hosts Theatre Night with Badal Sarkar’s Classic Pagla Ghoda

Gurugram – SGT University’s Faculty of Mass Communication & Media Technology, along with the Swayambhu Foundation and the Students’ Welfare Centre, hosted an unforgettable evening of theatre with the staging of Badal Sarkar’s Bengali classic Pagla Ghoda.

The campus came alive with vibrant energy as students and faculty gathered to witness the gripping performance. For many, this was their first live theatre experience at SGT University, making the event all the more special.

The play, set in a haunting cremation ground, featured four men reflecting on love, loss, and the women they once cherished. With themes of regret, guilt, hypocrisy, and loneliness, the performance struck an emotional chord with the audience.

The ensemble direction by Sahil Khan, under the guidance of Dinesh Yadav, brought together a talented cast: Saquib Siddiqui (Kartik), Shiva Ankit (Satu), Ayushi Rathod (multiple female roles), Arpit Anand (Shashi), Ankit Singh (Himadri), and Malik (Ratnesh). Backed by a strong technical team handling set, costume, lighting, music, and backstage support, the production delivered a powerful, thought-provoking experience.

The evening concluded with thunderous applause, marking it as a cultural milestone for the university. Organizers emphasized that theatre is not just about entertainment but also about reflecting on life’s complexities—a sentiment that resonated strongly with everyone present.
