Synergy-2025 Concludes at SGT University With Innovation, Research and Future-Ready Vision
Gurugram: SGT University recently hosted a vibrant and dynamic two-day academic event, Synergy-2025, which concluded successfully. The event brought together 13 universities, participants from various schools, industry experts, researchers, and hundreds of student innovators, making it one of the largest academic showcases in the region.
This year’s theme focused on four key areas: Healthcare, Future Technology & Innovation, Natural Resources & Sustainable Development, and Societal Development. Students showcased impactful projects across diverse fields such as science, technology, medical sciences, agriculture, and the arts, attracting impressive crowds at every pavilion.
Industry Leaders Share Insights
During the inaugural ceremony of the 8th edition of Synergy, Madan Mohan Reddy, Director of Aurobindo Pharma Ltd., highlighted the importance of value-driven education. He referred to Discipline, Determination, and Dreaming Big as the three pillars of success, emphasizing the need to cultivate values such as Integrity, Accountability, Humanity, Leadership, and Innovation in students. He noted that while success boosts confidence, failure offers crucial lessons, particularly in today’s competitive environment where mental well-being is essential.
Gautam Bhattacharya, CEO of the Life Sciences Sector Skill Development Council, commended SGT University’s forward-thinking approach. He pointed out the existing gap between academic knowledge and practical workplace skills, stressing the need to bridge this divide to prepare students for real-world challenges. He used the analogy of a student who excels in theoretical swimming yet cannot swim, underscoring the importance of hands-on learning.
Guest of Honour P.K. Dutta, MD of Systoic Laboratories Pvt. Ltd., praised SGT University for its medical excellence and underscored the importance of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). He shared an inspiring story about a woman who planted one million saplings along the India-Pakistan border and mentioned that his company allocates ₹5 crore annually to tree plantation initiatives.
Valedictory Ceremony: Research Takes Centre Stage
During the closing ceremony, Chief Guest Dr. Mrinalini Darswal, Odisha’s Special Resident Commissioner, highlighted the urgent need for research and innovation in India’s pharmaceutical sector. She pointed out that while India supplies up to 70% of generic medicines to major global markets, the country still lags in producing generic Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) and must reduce its dependence on external supply chains. Dr. Darswal emphasized that original thinking and a re-evaluation of India’s academic structures are vital for reclaiming the nation’s status as a global knowledge leader.

Experts Highlight Collaboration and Innovation
Dr. Madhur Gupta, Technical Officer at WHO India, encouraged students to embrace collaboration and innovation as cornerstones of growth. Dr. Ekta Kapoor, Scientist-G at the Department of Science and Technology, outlined ongoing national missions and innovation hubs that promote technology, startups, and entrepreneurship.
Grand Finale and Awards
Over the two days, the festival featured robotics competitions, drone challenges, street plays, and pavilions showcasing innovations in AI, engineering, medicine, economics, agri-tech, and culture. Winning teams from schools, colleges, and universities received cash prizes and trophies, and student coordinators were honored for their contributions.
The valedictory ceremony was graced by Shri Ram Bahadur Rai, a recipient of both the Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan awards, who serves as Chancellor of SGT University. Managing Trustee Shri Manmohan Singh Chawla and Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Hemant Verma also addressed the gathering.
With new goals and renewed motivation, Synergy-2025 concluded as a celebration of innovation, teamwork, and future-ready learning at SGT University.
