SGT University Cricket Team Shines at Gurugram Premier League 2024
The SGT University cricket team achieved remarkable success at the Gurugram Premier League (GPL) 2024, securing second place in a highly competitive tournament featuring 12 of the best teams from Gurugram. Despite competing against teams comprised of professional players, the SGT team showcased exceptional talent and determination, making the university proud.
The team’s outstanding performance was further highlighted by individual accolades. Mr. Yuvraj Singh, a student from the Faculty of Special Education, emerged as the tournament’s highest scorer with an impressive 452 runs in 8 matches. His phenomenal batting earned him the title of Best Player of the Tournament, along with a prestigious award—an Apple iPhone 15.
Mr. Ashutosh Yadav, a student from the Faculty of Physiotherapy, delivered a stellar all-round performance by scoring 428 runs and taking 13 wickets in 8 matches. His consistent brilliance earned him the title of Man of the Series, and he was honored with a Royal Enfield Bullet motorcycle.
The SGT University cricket team was awarded a cash prize of ₹7.00 lakhs for securing the runner-up position, marking a significant achievement for the university in the field of sports.
