PM Modi Distributes Over 51,000 Appointment Letters at 16th Rozgar
In a significant step toward empowering the nation’s youth, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday, July 12, 2025, distributed over 51,000 appointment letters during the 16th edition of the Rozgar Mela. The event was conducted virtually, with the Prime Minister addressing the newly appointed candidates via video conferencing.
The appointments span across major Central Government Ministries and Departments, including the Ministry of Railways, the Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Posts, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the Department of Financial Services, and the Ministry of Labour and Employment. Candidates selected from different states will now join various roles in public service, strengthening the country’s administrative capacity.
Held at 47 different locations nationwide, the Rozgar Mela began at 11 a.m. with an inaugural address by Union Minister of State Dr. Jitendra Singh. Of the total 51,000 letters issued, 1,805 were handed out physically, while 4,872 were distributed virtually.
This large-scale recruitment initiative is part of the government’s continuous effort to reduce unemployment and increase the involvement of young citizens in nation-building. Since the Rozgar Mela’s launch in October 2022, over 10 lakh appointment letters have been issued across the country.
Prime Minister Modi had earlier shared a message on social media, stating, “We are determined to enhance the participation of young friends in building a developed and self-reliant India.”
The Rozgar Mela initiative aligns with the government’s vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’ and ‘Aatmnirbhar Bharat’, aiming to provide structured employment opportunities in mission mode. It emphasizes transparency, merit, and speed in the recruitment process.
The 15th Rozgar Mela, held in April 2025, saw departments like the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) issuing over 6,600 appointment letters. This consistent effort reflects the Centre’s commitment to strengthening public administration while creating meaningful career pathways for India’s youth.
As the nation advances toward a more developed and inclusive workforce, initiatives like Rozgar Mela play a crucial role in shaping a skilled and empowered India.
