DNA Test Confirms Pulwama Doctor Drove Car in Red Fort Blast

New Delhi, November 13, 2025: The investigation into the Red Fort car blast has reached a breakthrough after DNA tests confirmed that Dr. Umar Nabi, a medical professional from Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir, was driving the vehicle that exploded near Red Fort on Monday, November 10.

According to officials, the DNA samples of Umar Nabi’s mother were collected and matched with the remains recovered from the blast site. The confirmation has now linked Nabi directly to the terror incident, which the Centre officially categorized as a terror attack earlier this week.

Dr. Umar Nabi, who taught at Faridabad’s Al-Falah University, was reportedly the sole occupant of the car. Preliminary findings suggest that he may have been trying to escape an ongoing joint police operation involving Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh authorities. Over the past 15 days, eight individuals, including three doctors, have been arrested in connection with the case.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) announced that the Lal Quila Metro Station will remain closed until further notice due to security concerns. The measure has been taken as part of heightened vigilance across the national capital. All other metro lines continue to operate as per schedule.

Authorities continue to investigate the motive behind the blast and possible terror links, with enhanced security arrangements around sensitive locations in Delhi.
