Central Railway to Run 12 Midnight Special Locals for Mahaparinirvan Divas 2025

Central Railway has announced that it will operate 12 special midnight suburban local trains on the night of 5–6 December 2025 to accommodate the large number of passengers traveling for Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s Mahaparinirvan Divas. The decision aims to provide additional transportation support on one of the city’s busiest nights when lakhs of followers visit Dadar Chaitya Bhoomi to pay homage.

These additional services will run on both the Main Line and the Harbour Line, ensuring better connectivity between Parel, Kalyan, Kurla, Panvel, Thane, Vashi, and other major stations. All the special trains will halt at every station on their respective routes to offer maximum convenience to passengers.

According to Central Railway officials, the complete schedule of these special trains has been released on the official Central Railway website.

Main Line – UP Specials (Parel–Kalyan section)

• Kurla–Parel Special will depart Kurla at 00:45 a.m. and reach Parel at 01:05 a.m.

• Kalyan–Parel Special will depart Kalyan at 01:00 a.m. and arrive at Parel at 02:20 a.m.

• Thane–Parel Special will leave Thane at 02:10 a.m. and reach Parel at 02:55 a.m.

Main Line – DOWN Specials (Kalyan–Parel section)

• Parel–Thane Special will leave Parel at 01:15 a.m. and reach Thane at 01:55 a.m.

• Parel–Kalyan Special will depart Parel at 02:30 a.m. and reach Kalyan at 03:50 a.m.

• Parel–Kurla Special will leave Parel at 03:05 a.m. and reach Kurla at 03:20 a.m.

Harbour Line – UP Specials (Panvel–Kurla section)

• Vashi–Kurla Special will leave Vashi at 01:30 a.m. and reach Kurla at 02:10 a.m.

• Panvel–Kurla Special will depart Panvel at 01:40 a.m. and arrive at Kurla at 02:45 a.m.

• Vashi–Kurla Special will leave Vashi at 03:10 a.m. and reach Kurla at 03:40 a.m.

These special services are expected to significantly ease crowd movement and provide safer, smoother travel for passengers traveling late at night.
