ACIC, SGT University secures 2nd position at the Oral Health Innovation Conclave – 2023.
The Atal Community Innovation Centre (ACIC) at SGT University, along with its health technology startup, Sumiom Innovation, secured second place in the ‘Dental Innovation’ category at the Oral Health Innovation Conclave 2023, one of India’s largest dental events. The event was organized by the Indian Dental Association, and saw participation from dental colleges across the country in which Dr. Sumit Singh Phukela and Dr. Parnav Parashar won the second prize. The team responsible for the achievement comprised Bakul Dev Rai, Rajive Gulati, Rishi Sharma, and Akshat Sagar.
Dr. Sumit stated that the project was based on artificial intelligence, and his vision was to empower and encourage SGT University students to attend conferences and participate in outreach programs where they can learn about various dental-related topics. The university conducts two or three camps each week and actively encourages students to attend conferences.
The participation of the SGT University team at the conclave highlights the university’s commitment to promoting innovation and excellence in dental education and research.
