Department of Public Health Dentistry under the aegis of SGT Admission team conducted a School Oral Health check-up counseling and treatment program on Sunday at Shishu Kalyan Senior Secondary School Sector 86 Nawada, Gurugram. The team took initiative under the guidance of Professor and Head Dr. Shourya Tandon and the team was headed by Department of Public Health Dentistry tutor Dr Ankita Department of Oral and maxillofacial surgery Associate Professor Dr Ajay along with two Postgraduates Dr Tabita and Dr Mehak Khajuria from Periodontics and four Interns and two Attendants Mr. Sunil and Mr. Sombir. Specialist Clinical support was provided by the Department of Oral Surgery, Pedodontics, and Periodontics. A total of 66 patients including 29 children and their parents, guardians were examined and 19 oral prophylaxis patients were given basic oral health care in the mobile dental van. Oral Health Education was imparted regarding the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle through brushing techniques, models, and charts. The young children were shown educational videos in the mobile dental van to inculcate good oral health habits. The session was concluded by giving oral health education to the students, parents, and teachers. The purpose of the Oral Health talk was to create awareness among the community and make them understand the importance of oral health care. Patients who required dental treatment were referred to SGT Dental Hospital for further treatment.
