Faculty of Dental Sciences conducts an oral health screening program at Ravindra Public School, Pitampura, Delhi
The Department of Public Health Dentistry, Faculty of Dental Sciences, SGT University conducted an oral health screening program on 8th December (Thursday) at Ravindra Public School, Pitampura, Delhi.
The Dental team took initiative under the guidance of Dr. Shourya Tandon (Head of Dept. & Associate Dean) and in collaboration with SGT Admissions Team.
The Dental team was headed by Dr. Surbhi Priyadarshi (Senior Lecturer, Department of Public Health Dentistry) along with 6 Interns Shiwani, Shalley, Savari, Yashi, Swati, Tanisha, and 1 attendant Mr. Darshan. A total of 160 students from classes Nursery to VIIIth were examined which included 106 boys and 54 girls. Along with students, oral health examinations were done for some of the teachers and supporting staff members in the school. An oral health talk session was delivered which included the importance of brushing, procedure of mouthwash usage and oral hygiene instructions. Doubts regarding toothbrushing technique, oral hygiene products and questions raised by students during oral health talk sessions were also answered by Dr. Surbhi. Oral Health Education was imparted regarding the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle through brushing techniques, models and charts. The purpose of the Oral Health drive was to create awareness among the students and make them understand the importance of oral health care. Students who required dental treatment were referred to SGT Dental hospital for further treatment.
