Faculty of Dental Sciences, SGT University introducing an introductory course on ‘Research methodology and Biostatistics’

Faculty of Dental Sciences, SGT University introduced an introductory course on ‘Research methodology and Biostatistics’. This workshop is conducted for two days and today was the first day of this program. This workshop was jointly assembled by SGT University and the Institute of Applied Statistics. During this program, Chief statical advisor, Planning Commission, Govt. of India, Former ADG, Indian council of Medical Research Dr. Padam Singh was the Chief Guest. The Guest Speakers of the program were National Coordinator PSRD Scheme Dr Shubham Pandey and Professor, PGIMS Rohtak Dr Hitesh Khurana. In this workshop, Pro-Vice chancellors, SGT university prof. O P Kalara, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Administration – Prof Vinod Kumar, Associate Professor, Department of Prosthodontics – Dr. Bharti Raina was present there. The first lecture was held by the Honourable Chief Guest Dr Padam Singh (Chief statistical Advisor, Planning and Commission on “Introduction of quantitative and qualitative research in health care professional”. Dr Shubham Pandey conducted the second lecture on “Fundmental of Statistics, Data, Data quality and collection methods”. These interactive sessions were followed by Lunch. Post lunch session was once again held by Dr Padam Singh on “Fundamental of sampling and sample size”. The day concluded with the last lecture on “Descriptive statistics and Data Presentation” by the third guest speaker Dr Hitesh Khurana (Professor, PGIMS).

This workshop aimed to provide quality research education through experienced and renowned national faculty members from different prestigious national organizations. It was focusing on Biostatics and Epidemiology in Medical Research and give demonstrated knowledge and scientific research in health-related fields and explain the concepts of basic biostatics and epidemiology and performed the computation involved in statistical techniques. In this workshop a total of 100 delegates from SGT University and PGIMS, Rohtak, Sudha Rustagi Dental College, Faridabad, and also from Amity University, Greater Noida participated in the event. It is worthwhile to mention here that SGT University designated as a state training center for Delhi & NCR region by the Institute of Applied Statistics (IAP) for Dr. Padam Singh’s research and development scheme.
